This richly detailed tapestry is inspired by the figurative work of Vittorio Zecchin (1878-1947). Born on the glass-making island of Murano in northern Italy, Zecchin was influenced by Art Nouveau artists like Gustav Klimt. This tapestry is taken from his masterpiece entitled "Le Mille e una Notta", or "One Thousand and One Nights". It depicts the procession of Aladdin and his gift-bearing entourage of eastern princes and princesses, arriving to seek the hand of the Sultan's daughter.
